The table, a fundamental support for collective construction, has been transformed by LA AGENCIA into a dynamic tool that maximizes the efficiency of contemporary workspaces. The MuT is not just a surface, but a volume that generates unique spaces and atmospheres. It supports various activities and forms of relationships, making it a versatile addition to any home or office.
The MuT combines wood, stone, steel, and linen in a balanced way, using contemporary production systems to reduce costs. The countertops are made of solid wood with a natural finish or Corian DuPont for extreme resistance. The structure is steel with a copper powder coat finish, and the luminaire is made with a lightweight structure covered in linen.
The design team, led by Sebastián Rial and Federico Senociaín, developed the MuT as an integrated system. It includes green separators, luminaires, and surfaces, all configurable according to the user's needs. The table has a width of 150 cm, with a variable length from 150 cm to 500 cm, making it adaptable to various spaces.
LA AGENCIA's design process was rooted in a thoughtful analysis of how contemporary life evolves and changes constantly. The team built a critical view about the fundamental role played by furniture in structuring and articulating space. The main challenge was to reinterpret the table as a high-performance instrument, considering the main aspects of function and ergonomics.
The MuT is more than just a table. It's a space for working, resting, studying, thinking, having a coffee, or being inspired. Whether used individually or in groups, it recreates atmospheres that induce the realization of these activities according to the needs of its users and in the greater comfort.
The MuT, a product of five months of work in Montevideo, Uruguay, is a testament to LA AGENCIA's innovative design approach. It is a shining example of how design can transform everyday objects into tools that enhance our lives, earning it the Silver A' Design Award for its outstanding expertise and innovation.
